The Spring Festival or Chinese New Year is the most important celebration on the calendar. Like the Christmas of the West, it's all about being with family, reunion and enjoyment.
Confucius teaches "show solicitude for parents at the end of their lives and continue with sacrifice when they are far away". This festival is about remembering ancestors and spring-cleaning their "homes" in the spirit world.
The Lantern Festival ends the Spring Festival. It celebrates the first complete moon with bright lanterns, delicious dumplings, and the warmth of family.
